Kevin Barrett
Congratulates Ron Kind, Paul Stark
Press release issued by
Barrett for Congress, November 5th, 2008
3rd District Libertarian candidate Kevin Barrett congratulated Democratic
victor Ron Kind and Republican challenger Paul Stark, and announced that he
would "take a break from politics to focus on family and spirituality."
"I think Ron Kind is a decent guy who wants to do the right thing," Barrett
said. "Like most Americans, he has so far failed to stand up to the
criminals behind the 9/11 wars and the trashing of our Constitution. But he
did have the courage to show up for a debate in which he knew I was going
to rake him over the coals. (Watch it here:
http://www.radiodujour.com/people/barrett_kevin/index.shtml)
He would have won just as big if he'd ducked that debate. It took guts to
show up and take what he knew was coming. I hope he'll show even more guts
by considering some of the points I made, and then standing up more for
what's right, and less for what's expedient."
Barrett called on Kind to support fellow Democratic Representative Dennis
Kucinich's call for a Truth and Reconciliation Commission for 9/11 and the
9/11 wars. He also urged Kind to support Richard Cook's proposals for
currency reform, including phasing out the Federal Reserve and treating
currency as a public utility, not the world-conquest weapon of a private
monopoly of international bankers.
Barrett also said: "I would like to thank Paul Stark for his lively,
provocative campaign. The real reason I ran was to raise important issues
and ideas, and Paul Stark also did that by banging the drums for the
elimination of the income tax and its replacement by the Fair Tax. I think
the Fair Tax proposal deserves a fair hearing, and I congratulate Paul Stark
for successfully drawing attention to this important proposal."
Barrett said his campaign had been a success. "Those who followed it from
all over the world know that this was one of the most exciting political
campaigns ever, with more truth, humor, and creativity than a thousand
ordinary campaigns put together. Unfortunately it wasn't a good year for
third parties. Given that, I did pretty well. I understand that I got about
double the votes of the other major Wisconsin Libertarian congressional
candidate, Joe Kexel; seven times the votes of Libertarian presidential
candidate Bob Barr; and about the same as Mike Munger, the biggest
non-presidential Libertarian candidate in the country, who ran for Governor
of North Carolina. Additionally, I got more total votes than Jeff Zastrow,
who ran in my district in 2002 on the coattails of Ed Thompson, the all-time
record-breaking Libertarian vote-getter. So it looks like mine was the most
successful Libertarian campaign in the country."
He added: "I taught college from 1991 through 2006, and hope to return to my
career of teaching and scholarship. Now that my campaign is over, I will be
applying for teaching positions in hopes that the neo-McCarthy era will soon
end, and academic freedom will return to these shores."
Barrett urged those interested in his ideas to visit his website, which will
stay up at

Kevin Barrett Unveils Campaign Reform Plan to End
Legalized Bribery

Remember the
McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform law? Well, we haven’t heard much
about it lately even though John McCain is running for president. The
McCain-Feingold law is not talked about because it doesn’t work.
We propose a
new, simple kind of campaign finance reform that will actually work. We
propose that giving any publicly elected official more than $200 dollars in
one calendar year be re-classified in the criminal codes as a legally
presumed bribe. We also propose that the legal fiction of a difference
between a public official and a campaign be eliminated. Giving money to a
campaign is the same thing as giving money to a person. Giving large
amounts of money to an elected official is not a “contribution”; it’s a
bribe.
That’s it.
Now let’s take a look at some possible objections, implications, and
benefits of this reform.
Question:
Wouldn’t the Supreme Court declare this reform an infringement of free
speech rights?
Answer: No,
the Supreme Court has never considered bribery of public officials to be
free speech. Legal presumptions are common, especially in the co-called war
on drugs, where a certain amount of drugs presumes you’re a drug dealer,
rather than just a drug user.
Question: How
would this affect candidates not currently holding public office?
Answer: You
can’t bribe someone who doesn’t hold public office. The $200 contribution
limit would not apply to those not in office. Non-public office holding
challengers get an advantage under this reform to offset advantages of
incumbency. Since incumbents are limited to $200 contributions, fewer would
be elected, and fewer would accumulate million dollar war-chests.
Question:
Would this reform promote the rotation in public office envisioned by our
Founding Fathers?
Answer: Yes.
This system would encourage a public office holder to leave office if they
wanted to try for another office. There would be more open seats and more
competitive elections.
Question:
Would this reform make elected officials less beholden to special interest
money?
Answer: Yes.
Once in office, the flow of special interest money would be severely
curtailed. Special interests might help someone get elected, but once
elected, the special interests would lose control.
Question: How
would this reform affect issue ads?
Answer: Issue
ads are protected free speech. They’re already regulated and not allowed to
be coordinated with political campaigns. It’s better for someone to spend
money on their political cause with an issue ad, then to bribe public
officials with the same money.
Question: Are
there any other benefits?
Answer: Yes. Since incumbents are limited to $200 contributions, they
will be spending less time raising money and more time doing the public’s
business. No one can campaign full time and focus on their official duties
at the same time. Good examples of that are John McCain and Barack Obama.
They should either leave the Senate or pull back on campaigning.
Question: Is
there a practical way to get this reform enacted?
Answer: Yes.
The easiest first step would be for 38 state legislatures to pass a
constitutional amendment that applied this reform to federal elections. The
worst abuses of power seem to be occurring at the federal level. The reform
would cause more open seats in the federal congress. State legislators
might be more inclined to challenge for federal office, giving them an
incentive to pass the amendment.
These simple
reforms are constitutional and practical, and combined with clean Internet
fundraising, will end legalized bribery of our public officials.

Poll: 22% in Ron Kind’s
District Think 9/11 Might be an Inside Job

22% of the
people living households with two registered voters in Ron Kind’s
congressional district (3rd district, Wisconsin) think 9/11 might be an
inside job, according to a scientific poll released today. The poll was
conducted by Voice Broadcasting, Inc. out of Arlington, Texas, and was
commissioned by the Kevin Barrett for Congress campaign.
22% of
registered voters in Ron Kind’s district represents about 64,000 voters.
The exact
wording of the poll question was:
“Do you
think it’s possible the 9/11 terror arracks were an inside job?”
1400 people
were polled with a statistical margin of error of about 2%. The sample size
is almost three times the size of most standard polls.
Rolf
Lindgren says:
“Households
with two registered voters represent the heart of the American family.
These are usually married couples that own a home and have a landline
phone. They tend to be more conservative about controversial issues. The
Barrett campaign believes a poll of all registered voters would show numbers
even greater than 22%.”
The poll
also found that 47% think that the Bush Administration might be telling
significant lies about what happened on 9/11, and 24% think the Bush
Administration may have known about the 9/11 attacks in advance, and let
them happen on purpose.
Dr. Barrett
is targeting the 22% who think 9/11 might be an inside job for their votes.
In a three-way race for Congress, you can theoretically win with 34% of the
vote and are likely to win with 40% of the vote.
Lindgren
says:
“It seems
inconceivable that anyone who thinks 9/11 might be an inside job would vote
for Ron Kind. He has done nothing to find the truth about 9/11 nor has done
anything to stop the war in Iraq.”
Dr. Barrett
will also target those voters who think the Bush Administration might be
telling significant lies about 9/11.
Lindgren
says:
“25% think
Bush may be telling lies about 9/11, but don’t think it’s an inside job. If
Barrett can capture one-half of those voters, Kevin Barrett has a chance to
win. If he can capture three-fourth, he will win.”
Dr. Kevin
Barrett says:
“If you
think 9/11 might be an inside job, speak up! You have strength in
numbers.”

the poll.

Former
Minnesota governor Jesse Ventura has endorsed Dr. Kevin Barrett's
congressional candidacy in Wisconsin's 3rd Congressional District, right
across the Mississippi from Governor Ventura's home in
Minnesota.
The endorsement came during an in-person conversation before Governor
Ventura's speech at Ron
Paul's Rally for the Republic Tuesday afternoon, and was
re-affirmed by telephone Thursday morning.
Ventura, who won as a candidate independent of the two-party duopoly, in
1998, applauded Barrett's decision to run as a
third party candidate, saying "I'd
like to use the quote of the late, great
Jerry Garcia of the
Grateful Dead.
Jerry Garcia said once that if you're made to pick the lesser of two evils,
you're still picking evil, aren't you?" Ventura said that non-major-party
candidates can win: "We're a majority! Thirty percent are Democrats, thirty
percent are Republicans, forty percent are us, yet we have no-one
representing us. Why not? It can be done. I proved it. I beat the
two-party system
in Minnesota, and I hope
Kevin Barrett will do the same
thing in Wisconsin."
Ventura said he liked Barrett's "New Libertarian" philosophy: "I'm a
libertarian with a small L. The Libertarian party...some of them are
anarchists! I remember getting booed at a Libertarian convention because I
supported the government being involved with transportation. They booed me.
I said, 'how did you get here?' If you drive on a road, it was because the
government is involved with transportation. If they privatized the roads,
there would be toll booths every 500 feet!"
Ventura also endorsed Barrett's demand that the troops be brought home
immediately, and sympathized with Barrett's views on 9/11. The former
Minnesota Governor said that as a former
Navy Seal trained in demolitions,
he does not believe the government's story that fire brought down the three
World Trade Center skyscrapers--only two of which were hit by planes.
Ventura questioned the nature of the collapses, which went straight down at
near-free-fall speed. "If they really think that happened, they can test
that by starting a fire in a skyscraper and seeing if it suddenly
collapses," Ventura said.
Jesse Ventura
will appear on Kevin Barrett's Dynamic Duo radio show on the eve of
Barrett's primary
election contest!

Barrett Campaign:
Will "Dial 911" to 30,000+ voters

Dr. Kevin Barrett, the peace and truth candidate for Congress in Wisconsin's
3rd District, has announced that he will be robo-calling more than 30,000
registered 3rd District voters next Tuesday, September 2nd to ask for their
votes in the September 9th primary and to remind them that 9/11 was an
inside job.
Barrett's pre-recorded phone message slams politicians and features
Barrett's trademark absurdist, self-effacing humor.
Barrett test-marketed the call to a number of voters, one of whom
immediately donated $500 to his campaign, while another responded "politics
couldn't be more fun!" Based on the test-marketing sample, Barrett said he
expects to garner a few thousand dollars, a few thousand votes, and "only a
couple of dozen death threats" from the calls. "That's a pretty good ratio
of votes to death threats," Barrett said. "So I decided to go ahead and
place the calls. It seems like a sound, strategic political decision."
Dink Wheedlesharp, a chain-smoking paper-clip wholesaler from West Lima, was
one of the test marketing subjects who did not appreciate the call. "If one
more of those bleepity-bleep politicians calls me up to tell me that 9/11
was an inside job, I'm heading straight to Washington D.C. to rip his lungs
out," Wheedlesharp expostulated. "The nerve of some people! Calling me in
the privacy of my own home to interrupt my dinner and tell me that 9/11 was
an inside job! What an insult to my intelligence! I mean, I KNEW the first
time I saw it that skyscrapers don't fall down like that!"
Barrett apologized to Wheedlesharp and others who don't like getting robo-calls
from politicians, and promised that if they send him to Washington he'll
stop calling them. "Heck, I might even support legislation banning robo-calls
from politicians," Barrett said. "In fact, I think I'll record a robo-call
right now telling voters if they vote for me I'll support anti-robo-call
legislation."
Rolf Lindgren, Barrett's campaign manager, said he hoped voters had a sense
of humor.

Barrett to Join Peace Activists at Ron Kind's Office Today!
Challenges Ben Olson to Debate
3rd District congressional candidate Kevin Barrett will join local peace
activists meeting with pro-war incumbent Ron Kind today at 4:30 p.m. today,
Wednesday August 13th, at the congressman's office in LaCrosse, 205 5th Ave.
S. #226. Barrett commended the peace activists for their patriotism and
urged other Wisconsinites to join them. Barrett said he also hopes to meet
with Kind today to schedule their upcoming debate. (Watch Ron Kind agree to
debate Kevin Barrett:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_dCg_QYEeA)
Barrett called himself "the peace and truth" candidate, adding that "Ron
Kind is the war and untruths incumbent. Ron Kind always says that when he
votes for the war, he's really voting to give US troops the armor and
equipment they need to protect themselves. What a load of bovine excrement.
He's voting to keep them in harm's way, and he knows it. It's time to hold
him accountable for the war crimes he keeps voting for."
Barrett also announced that he had challenged his Libertarian
primary opponent, Ben Olson, to a debate. "I called him yesterday
afternoon and left him a message asking him to join me in a debate or any
other public forum of his choice," Barrett said. "I hope I hear from
him soon." Barrett cited a Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel article
reporting that Olson had accused him of "espousing socialist ideas," and
said he would like to defend his New Libertarian economic platform in
a debate with Olson.

Steve Nass's nomination papers.
Barrett will visit the Wisconsin Elections Division, 17 W. Main St. #310 at

signatures.
"I
just can't believe that many people would sign for him," Barrett said. "I'm
going to verify that these 239 people actually exist. Keep in mind that he
needs 200 signatures to be on the ballot.
In
contrast to Nass's 239 signatures, Barrett turned in 1500 valid signatures

Barrett to Kind: Retract "Wiped off the Map" Lie!

Kevin
Barrett, the peace candidate for Congress who is challenging pro-war
Democratic incumbent Ron Kind in Wisconsin's District 3, has written to Kind
demanding that he retract his false and libelous statement that Iran's
president has called for Israel to be "wiped off the map."
Below
is Barrett's letter to Kind.
* * *
Dear
Congressman Kind,
I am
writing to ask you to retract a libelous, potentially murderous, and
arguably criminal falsehood you uttered on the Ben Merens show on Wisconsin
Public Radio Tuesday. You claimed, as many war propagandists have, that
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad has called for Israel to be "wiped off
the map." The false attribution of such a statement to Ahmedinejad is the
Big Lie that is being used to promote a US war on Iran, just as Big Lies
about WMDs and Iraqi links to al-Qaida were used to launch our catastrophic
invasion of Iraq.
It is
now well-known and widely accepted among scholars and informed people
everywhere that the quote attributed to the Iranian President is based on a
misattribution and mistranslation. In short, every word of this alleged
statement is a lie. The "wiped off the map" lie is an act of war propaganda
whose knowing transmission arguably constitutes a war crime. The quote is
not from Ahmedinejad, and it does not include the words "Israel," "wiped,"
"wiped off," or "map." Let's go over this word by word.
First,
the statement in question is not Ahmedinejad's, but a quote from Ayatollah
Khomeni that is often cited by many Iranians, not just their President. When
Ahmedinejad spoke the words in question, he was merely quoting Khomeni, not
making his own statement. Attributing this statement to Ahmedinejad, rather
than Khomeni, is a lie.
So
what did Ahmedinejad say that Khomeni had said? The Iranian President's
exact words were: "Imam (Khomeini)
ghoft (said) een (this) rezhim-e (regime) ishghalgar-e (occupying) qods
(Jerusalem) bayad (must) az safheh-ye ruzgar (from page of time) mahv shavad
(vanish from)." In English: "The Imam (Khomeni) said this regime
occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time."
Congressman Kind, the United States government and virtually
every other government on earth except Israel's have repeatedly called for
Israel to withdraw from all of the territories it invaded and occupied in
1967 -- and that includes Jerusalem. In fact, the UN, with US support, has
repeatedly ordered Israel to withdraw from Jerusalem and the other Occupied
Territories. Khomeni's call for regime change in Jerusalem is supported, for
all intents and purposes, by everyone on earth except the Israelis and their
unregistered American agents.
Congressman, you have repeatedly voted for the catastrophic
war in Iraq that has killed many of your young constituents as well as a
million Iraqis -- not to mention our economy. You have voted against your
own party's attempts to set a time limit on this insane war. You say that by
repeatedly voting for the war, you are voting to help our troops by
providing them with bullets and armor. In fact, you are voting to kill and
maim them by leaving them in harm's way. Now you are repeating a Big Lie
designed to spread that insane, catastrophic war to Iran. If war with Iran
comes, with its promise of the complete destruction of our economy,
$10-per-gallon gasoline, the murder of huge numbers of Iranians and young
Americans, and the possibility of a nuclear exchange with Iran's Russian and
Chinese backers, your transmission of the "wiped off the map" Big Lie could
be used as evidence against you in eventual Nuremburg II war crimes
tribunals. I urge you to immediately and publicly retract your statement,
and issue a correction explaining that Khomeni, not Ahmedinejad, is the
source of the quote calling for regime change in Jerusalem, not for Israel
to be "wiped off the map."
Sincerely
Dr. Kevin Barrett, Arabist-Islamologist
Ph.D., African Languages (Arabic), University of
Wisconsin-Madison
Candidate for Congress, Wisconsin's 3rd Congressional
District

this afternoon to the Elections Division of the Wisconsin
Government Accountability Board. Barrett will hand in the signatures at

signatures.
Kevin Barrett says:
"About 80% to 90% of the people I approached agreed to sign my election
petitions. This represents overwhelming support for my message. I am the
peace candidate for Wisconsin's third congressional district."
If Barrett is able to get
80% to 90% of the vote, that would be enough to win the Libertarian primary
in September and the general election in November.

Remember how
Russ Feingold
was elected to the Senate thanks to an endorsement from
Elvis Presley?
Kevin
Barrett, the New Libertarian running for Congress against pro-war Democrat
Ron Kind in the 3rd District, will soon be endorsed by an equally famous and
far more talented rock star.
"People should definitely vote for candidates who are endorsed by famous
dead rock stars," Barrett said. "Look at Feingold. He got Elvis's
endorsement, and he turned out to be a pretty good guy - the only Senator
with the guts to vote against the Patriot Act. The mystery rock star who's
endorsing me is way cooler than Elvis, so you can assume that when I'm
elected I'll be even gutsier than Feingold."
The
mystery rock star will endorse Barrett as part of a live musical and
spoken-word performance at the Dardenelles, 1851 Monroe Street, on Monday
June 23rd at 7 p.m. The performance will be followed by a screening of the
critically-acclaimed documentary The US Versus
John Lennon.
Barrett and the mystery rock star will be appearing on Lee Rayburn's show on
the Mic,
92.1 FM, on
Monday, June 23rd around 7:45 a.m. :

Kevin Barrett will
personally attend
Representative Ron Kind's
listening session in Jackson county, on Friday, June 13, at 11 a.m. The
listening session is in the Jackson county courthouse in Black River Falls.
Dr. Barrett will
personally ask
Ron Kind
whether he will support his fellow Democrat, Representative Dennis Kucinich,
and support Kucinich's 35 articles of Impeachment against
President George Bush. On Monday, Kucinich delivered 35
articles of Impeachment against Bush on the floor of the United States House
of Representatives.
Article I of Impeachment
reads:
"Creating a Secret
Propaganda Campaign to Manufacture a False Case for War Against Iraq"
Kevin Barrett agrees
with all 35 Articles of Impeachment, and agrees that these offenses are high
crimes and misdemeanors backed up by evidence.
Barrett adds that Bush
needs to be impeached soon, before he pardons Scooter Libby, Jack Abramhoff and
Tom Delay, invades Iran, or gas hits $5 a gallon. Barrett hopes that Kind's
frequent votes for the Bush war spending do not tarnish his views on
impeachment.
Kevin Barrett is running
for congress as a New Libertarian in the 3rd Congressional district of
Wisconsin.

Libertarian party, and has filed his declaration of
candidacy.
Kevin
Barrett welcomes the opportunity for both candidates to tour the district
and discuss and
debate issues
important to 3rd district voters.
In
2000, Ben Olson was awarded the 'Lights of Liberty' Award by the Advocates
for Self-Government, for Libertarian activism.
Olson's views on 9/11 remain unknown to the Barrett campaign at this time.

Barrett Asks for Removal of LP Political Director Sean Haugh
For IMMEDIATE RELEASE - May 19, 2008
Asks the National Libertarian Party to Remove Political
Director Sean Haugh for Race-Baiting Smear Regarding the Nazi Holocaust of
the Jews and Implying that Dr. Barrett may deny the
Holocaust
In a verified email sent by LP Political Director Sean Haugh
to members of the Libertarian Party of
Wisconsin
on May 14, Haugh wrote:
"He [Barrett] has made qualified statements of support for
the preeminent Holocaust deniers in North America. I researched this
extensively before coming to this conclusion."
Haugh's statements are reckless and false. There is no
legitimate source documenting Dr. Barrett that ever "made qualified
statements of support for the preeminent Holocaust deniers", nor has Dr.
Barrett ever denied the existence of the Nazi Holocaust.
In fact, Dr. Barrett founded a non-profit organization called
the Muslim-Jewish-Christian Alliance for 9/11 Truth, which brings people of
these three great faiths together. Dr. Barrett has also co-edited and
co-authored an interfaith dialogue book with Jewish and Christian authors.
Haugh's statements cheapen the genuine human horror and
tragedy felt by the victims and survivors of the Holocaust, where the Nazis
exterminated six million Jewish people. When Dr. Barrett compares Bush to
the Nazis, it is not a compliment.
It should also be noted that the very concept of Holocaust
Denial contradicts 9/11 Truth, as Holocaust Denial denies government mass
murder while 9/11 Truth asserts it.
We are appalled that the national LP would be wasting member
dues to pay the salary of someone who uses the despicable tactics of Sean
Haugh. Haugh's actions damage the credibility of the Libertarian Party and
the Barrett for Congress Campaign.
A copy of Sean Haugh's email will be made available on
request.
We request that the national LP remove Sean Haugh from his
position as LP Political Director and that an apology be sent to Dr. Barrett
immediately.

Barrett Praises Kind for Anti-Pork Vote
For
Immediate Release
May 17th 2008
Kevin Barrett,
Ron Kind's
Libertarian challenger for Wisconsin's 3rd District congressional seat,
lauded his opponent for voting against the pork-laden $290 billion farm bill
recently passed by the House of Representatives.
"Ron
Kind has a terrible voting record on the war, the military
budget, and Constitutional issues," Barrett said. "But I like his farm
policy, and I especially like his leadership in fighting this
obscene, antiquated, bloated, pork-riddled farm bill. His
principled opposition to pork reminds me of another guy named Ron - my
favorite Republican, Dr. Ron Paul."
Barrett is already on record expressing approval of
Rep. Kind's
farm policy, with the proviso that Barrett, unlike Kind, would take
action to bring back hemp farming to
Wisconsin. The
badger state was the nation's leading hemp producer until the
wood pulp industry bribed federal lawmakers to make it illegal.
"Ron
Kind isn't my kind of congressman, but I will consider hiring
him as my agricultural policy advisor after I defeat him this fall," Barrett
said. "And even if he turns me down, I still might endorse
him for governor."

Rep. Ron Kind
Agrees to Debate Kevin Barrett
Unexpected Offer Comes as Barrett Announces Challenge to Veteran Congressman
FOR
IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, May 14th, 2008
In an
unprecedented breakthrough for both the Libertarian party and the 9/11 truth
movement, Rep. Ron Kind
has agreed to debate his Libertarian challenger for Wisconsin's 3rd District
congressional seat. (Watch the youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_dCg_QYEeA )
The
first Barrett-Kind debate will undoubtedly draw national media attention. It
will be the first time a federal office-holder has agreed to debate a
leading figure from the 9/11 truth movement. And it is apparently the first
time that a major-party incumbent in a three-way race has agreed to debate
the third-party challenger rather than the major-party challenger. (Kind and
Barrett may be kind enough to invite the third candidate, Republican Paul
Stark, to participate in the debates, despite the increasing irrelevance of
the collapsing Republican party.)
Kind's
acceptance of Barrett's debate offer came just minutes after Barrett's
official announcement of his candidacy at Kind's listening session in
Sparta, Wisconsin.
Barrett said he was surprised and pleased by Kind's stated willingness to
debate. "My respect for him just went up a couple of notches," Barrett said.
"Unlike Steve Nass, Mark
Green, and the 60 state legislators who wanted me fired from my job
at the UW due to my political views,
Ron Kind apparently
has the guts to face me in a free and fair debate. I'm happy to have found a
worthy opponent."
Alongside the national media, the Wisconsin media will be interested in the
debates, not only due to the unusual nature of the race, and Barrett's
refreshingly candid approach to the issues, but also because Kind has been
widely touted as a likely candidate for governor.
Barrett and Kind will be working together to schedule the debates as the
campaign heats up.
In
more good news for the Barrett campaign, WTDY talk radio host Sly has
endorsed Barrett's candidacy. The endorsement represents another
unprecedented breakthrough, since it is the first time a major mainstream
talk radio host has endorsed a pro-9/11-truth candidate for public office.
The endorsement came on Sly's radio show Friday.
Finally,
Richard Greene,
host of the nationally-syndicated Air America show "Clout," has chosen Kevin
Barrett to produce his "Month of Truth" radio shows every Thursday night in
May. Last week's show featured Barrett, along with engineer Tony Szamboti,
physics professor Steven Jones, and architect Richard Gage debating the
demolition of the World
Trade Center against former Special Forces operative John Brown. This
Thursday, May 15th, Rob Balsamo of Pilots for 9/11 Truth, Craig Ranke of the
Citizen's Investigation Team (CIT), and Barrett will debate the question of
what happened at the Pentagon
against one or more yet-to-be-named opponents. The show runs 8-10 pm Central
at http://airamerica.com/clout/
and on Air America stations around the USA.
Updates on these and other campaign stories will be posted at Barrett's
website, http://www.barrettforcongress.us

Lone
Rock, WI - Two years ago, the politicians wanted Kevin Barrett fired from
his teaching job. Now Barrett is turning the tables. Barrett is calling on
the voters to fire the politicians, starting with his own 3rd District
Representative, Ron Kind.
"The
Democrats were elected in 2006 to end the war," Barrett explains. "They
failed. Ron Kind and
the rest of them keep voting to throw our money into that five trillion
dollar black hole in
Iraq. That's why our
economy is tanking and gas prices are through the roof. It's time to give
the Democrats and the Republicans their walking papers. It's time to fire
them all." Barrett will be running as a Libertarian and urging voters to
throw all Republicans and Democrats out of office. He will be handing out
copies of the new DVD
Washington, You're Fired while he campaigns.
Barrett said he was inspired to run for Congress by three people: Jesse
Ventura, the maverick independent who beat the Democrats and Republicans to
become Governor of Minnesota;
Ron Paul, the Republican presidential candidate and defender of
freedom; and above all Ed Thompson, the mayor of Tomah. "If Ed were running
against me, I'd definitely vote for Ed," Barrett admits.
Alongside "end the 9/11 wars, save five trillion dollars," Barrett is
running on a "take back our freedom, save the Constitution" platform. He
points out that the Bush Administration has shredded the
Bill of Rights and
even revoked habeas corpus, the basis of freedom in Western law dating back
to the Magna Carta. But he also
argues that the destruction of Constitutional
rule has been going on for many decades, with the creation of the private
Federal Reserve money cartel, the establishment of the income tax, and the
founding of the National Security State in 1947 being the three biggest
landmarks in the gradual destruction of the Constitution.
Along
with his call to Investigate 9/11, Barrett's platform also includes such
planks as Deregulate Small Business, End the War on Drugs, Bust Up
Monopoly
Media, End Aid to Israel,
and Return to the Foreign Policy Principles of
George Washington.
Barrett will announce his challenge to
Congressman Ron Kind
this Monday, May 12 at 1:45 pm, shortly before
Ron Kind's Monroe
County Listening Session in County Board Room,
112 South Court
Street, Sparta, WI, 2:00-3:00 pm. After making the announcement, Barrett
plans to participate in Kind's listening session by asking the Congressman
some pointed questions.
